MOLDING PLASTIC PARTS

The following process was used to
make plastic wreathes for the gun ports of the model of the Prince of 1670. Materials
Needed:
"Alumilite" Casting
Material, a two-part system. Costs approximately $30.
"Mold It" material for mold
making. Costs approximately $17.
Procedure:
Make master part from wood or wax.
Mount master on flat wood surface
Add four "walls" around
master to form open box.
Pour "Mold It" into box.
Completely cover master part.
After mold material has set, remove
mold from master. Mold material is flexible.
Carefully mix two parts of
"Alumilite system. Mix only as much as is needed immediately. Avoid exposure to
direct sunlight.
Pour carefully into mold, avoiding
bubble formation. Mold release is not required.
After a few minutes the
"Alumilite will begin to harden.
Remove hardened part from mold and
remove any flash. Paint or add gold leaf as desired
