Card Modeling FAQ

Maintained by Steve Brown, the "Frequently Asked Questions" covers almost all aspects of the paper/card modeling hobby. Information on international distributors, web sites of modelers and manufacturers, model reviews, trade show and convention news, tips on assembly techniques and notes on designing your own models are some of the major topics. There are hundreds of Internet links, and a large listing of free models currently available for downloading. Almost all the models in this exhibit were found through the Card Modeling FAQ. It is located at er4www.eng.ohio-state.edu/~browns/card-faq/, with a mirror site at www.alink.com/personal/sbrown/card-faq/.

CardModelers Mailing List

While there are no newsgroups solely for paper modelers, there are currently two automated mailing lists. The Cardmodel-L list is only limited to a hundred members at a time, but the CardModelers list has no such restrictions. Set up by Saul H. Jacobs, the CardModelers mailing list includes builders of all skill levels, plus model designers and distributors. If you have a question not mentioned in the Card Modeling FAQ, there are many other paper enthusiasts willing to offer helpful comments. To subscribe, send the following email message to majordomo@teuton.org:

Subscribe cardmodelers your-email-address

You will then receive instructions on how to confirm your subscription. For more information, see Saul H. Jacob’s page at www.teuton.org/~saulj/.

Flags of the World

Every current national flag is represented, along with government department and military flags, state and provincial flags, and historical banners. The website is located at http://fotw.digibel.be/flags/, but there are twelve mirror sites around the world.
